Old Buck at the Chamblee Station. Buck and Dinky were the engines that ran on the Roswell Railroad from Chamblee, through Dunwoody, towards Roswell from 1881 until 1921.
Lawson General Hospital was located where the IRS and CDC Chamblee are located today, along Chamblee Tucker Road and Buford Highway. During WWII, Lawson General Hospital was known for and specialized in prosthetics and rehabilitation.

The Railroad Section House on Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody. This photo was taken during the time the store was a flower shop and Boston Market Restaurant was still located next door. Dunwoody was on the path of the Roswell Railroad between the years 1881 until 1921, which traveled from Chamblee to Roswell and back.

Richard (Gene) Adams at his family home along Lawrenceville Road, now Dunwoody Club Drive. The family farmhouse was located where Grapevine Run subdivision is today.

This store used to sit on the southwest corner of the intersection of Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Mount Vernon Road, where there is BP gas station today (2020). Some of the older residents of Dunwoody were told that the store was the Dunwoody railroad station and was rolled up Chamblee Dunwoody Road on logs to this new location, where it became a store and post office. It was also known as Nash’s Store for a while.
This is how the first Dunwoody Baptist Church looked, which was established just before 1900. The photo was taken in 1948.

Obediah Copeland well on Roberts Drive. The well was reconstructed behind the Dunwoody Springs Elementary School with the help of Bill Grant with original stones.
This photo shows the entrance to World War I Camp Gordon. The entrance was constructed at Dresden Drive and Clairmont Road for Camp Gordon, however this photo was taken during World War II when the land was home to Naval Air Station Atlanta. The photo was included in Tattoo magazine, issued by Naval Air Station Atlanta in 1944.
This map of portions of the Hightower Indian Trail include parts of Doraville, Dunwoody, and Sandy Springs. The map was completed based on the research of Jim Perkins in 1995, with illustrations by Chuck Brown.
